Management and Staff of the Ghana Tourism Authority last Saturday began the See, Eat, Wear, Feel Ghana Campaign with a fitness walk to Peduase.
The early morning walk which started from Ayi Mensah forms part of the many activities earmarked to be undertaken for the campaign. Acting Public Relations Officer at GTA, Mrs. Felicia Aniagyei said the walk was also used to create awareness of the campaign and also promote the area as a destination for health tourism.
The steep winding mountainous road from Ayimensah barrier to Peduase has become an ideal fitness route where hundreds of residents from mostly Greater Accra and parts of the Eastern region hike every weekend.
Mrs. Aniagyei hinted that his outfit will consider the possibility of turning it into a tourist centre as it continuously attract huge patronage from both young and old, corporate bodies and institutions on weekends and during holidays.
With several entertainment and lot of economic activities taking place at the area on such days, the PRO also encouraged the public sector to explore the business opportunities the area presents. The maiden fitness walk was in partnership with the Airport View Hotel and it is expected to be a frequent event as the See Ghana Campaign continues.
